'People are fearful' - why 'unstoppable force' Arsenal have become the side to defeat.

It's evident why Arsenal are now countless pundits' preferred choice to secure the Premier League during this term.

Consider their performances against Newcastle and Crystal Palace compared to those equivalent matches last season.

The Gunners have defeated all of them this time around, but surrendered 10 points across those games as they dropped off in the title race last season.

Impenetrable Defense

Arsenal's defensive solidity is a key reason why they are looking well positioned to at last realize their title goal.

They stand first for shutouts (6), goals conceded (3), attempts against (72), shots on target faced (19) and xGA (5.3).

The central defensive pairing of Gabriel and William Saliba is potentially the strongest in the league, with Arsenal recording a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Dead-Ball Excellence

Their threat from set-pieces is widely recognized, but rival sides still don't know how to neutralize the Gunners from these opportunities.

They have registered 11 times from set-pieces in the league, two more than any other side, with 69% of their goals resulting from these situations.

"Arsenal can excel in various aspects now. The whole team has a fear factor. People are just wary of them and it is wonderful to see."

Title Potential

What is especially impressive about Arsenal's start to the campaign is they have also faced Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United at opposition grounds and Manchester City in their own stadium - and are still ahead by four points at the top.

While they continue triumphing, their long-standing opponents aren't faring so well. This marks the premier instance at this point of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The expectations was on boss Mikel Arteta at the start, having spent around £250m on eight summer additions in quest of that coveted first title since 2004.

But the investment has so far paid off in impressive fashion, with his side among the highest scorers in the league and having the tightest defense, despite several injuries.

  • Unbreached games in three consecutive Premier League games
  • Over six hours without letting in a goal
  • Only three goals in 12 games across various contests

Former players and experts have labeled Arteta's men as a "powerhouse, looking difficult to stop" with the whole club now functioning with belief and determination.
